The Value of AOCA Membership

Helping you maintain licensure, certification, and managing your practice:

AOCA members receive a significant discount for the registration fees at each AOCA conference.  Student and Resident members receive waived registration fees with a letter from their respective program director.

The AOCA sponsors two meetings per year, the Mid-Year Seminar and the Annual Conclave and Convention, offering Category 1-A credit, which satisfies AOA and AOCA CME requirements of 150 hours over a three year period.  These courses, for the benefit of the membership, are offered in different geographic locations, at different times throughout the year, and at reduced rates for AOCA members. The courses are so designed to review topics that will keep the membership current academically, politically, and in business management applicable to the practice of anesthesiology. Further, a member can obtain the required CME credit through the specialty college courses alone, or a combination of osteopathic and allopathic courses.  AOCA’s Winter Conference serves as an educational review course designed to help those entering certification and re-certification.

Leadership and networking opportunities providing advancement in the osteopathic profession including:

Opportunity for committee appointments within the College, Representative/Liaison Appointments to the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology (AOBA), and American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA).
Opportunity to become an approved Anesthesiology Residency Program Inspector for AOA required inspections by attending AOCA Program Director Workshops.

Opportunity to be awarded the Degree of Fellow in the College (FACOA) for outstanding contribution in the osteopathic profession and/or the College, with the opportunity to be appointed to the Board of Governors of the AOCA.
