The
Objectives of this Organization shall be to:
Advance the standards of practice and service in the
specialty of Anesthesiology.
Aid in providing opportunities for study and training in the
art and science of Anesthesiology.
Promote the osteopathic concept of disease as related to
Anesthesiology.
Maintain and promote the highest moral and ethical standards
in the practice of Anesthesiology.
Establish standards for membership.
Recognize outstanding accomplishment in the field of
Anesthesiology or outstanding service to the organization on
the part of any member by conferring the degree "Fellow in
the American Osteopathic College of Anesthesiologists."
The AOBA is one of 18 certifying Boards of the
American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
and is regulated by its Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists to
administer examiniations resulting in certification awarded
by the American Osteopathic Association.
