The AOCA Mentorship Program connects students, residents, and practicing physicians with experienced osteopathic anesthesiologists to support career development, guidance, and meaningful professional connections.

Get Started in 3 Simple Steps

For Mentees (Looking for a Mentor)

  1. Search the AOCA Member Directory - Use filters for “AOCA Mentor,” specialty, and location

  2. Reach out to 1–3 potential mentors - Introduce yourself and request a brief introductory call

  3. Schedule a 30-minute intro conversation - Decide together if it’s a good fit

Recommended commitment: ~1 hour/month for 3–6 months

How the Program Works

The AOCA Mentorship program is 100% member-driven. We provide the platform, but you drive the connection:

  • Mentees browse and reach out directly
  • Pairs decide together if it's a good fit
  • Matches set their own schedule and goals

What Makes a Successful Mentorship

Strong mentorship relationships typically:

  • Set clear goals early
  • Meet consistently (about once per month)
  • Agree on a timeframe (commonly 3–6 months)
  • Maintain open, professional communication

AOCA provides optional resources and templates to help you stay organized and goal-oriented.
